BMO Completes Acquisition of AIG Life of Canada
As we notified in our January 14, 2009 Media Release, on April 1, 2009, BMO Financial Group completed the purchase of AIG Life Holdings (Canada) ULC and thereby acquired AIG Life Insurance Company of Canada.
Those who receive payments from AIG Life of Canada can be assured that:
- There will be no change to any benefits in the policy;
- There will be no interruption to payments; and
- Current pre-authorized deposit arrangements will remain valid.
In essence, the well-rated company heretofore known as AIG Life of Canada will now be known as BMO Life Assurance Company.
Going forward, BMO Life Assurance Company has indicated a desire to continue to offer superb structured settlement products. The new company will offer all covenants and assignment provisions formerly offered by AIG Life of Canada.
