The McKellar Guarantee
Since 1979, McKellar has issued an unconditional Guarantee for every structured settlement we have implemented. First and foremost, this Guarantee is your assurance that the structure put in place is tax free and meets the requirements of Canada Revenue Agency. Specifically, we promise the following:
- That any settlement documentation received by McKellar has been drafted to meet the requirements of Canada Revenue Agency, to maintain the tax-free status of the payments in the hands of the plaintiff;
- That the structure has been placed with major, federally-licensed Canadian life insurers;
- That the terms of the structure contract will match all settlement documentation supplied to McKellar; and,
- That McKellar will, without charge, manage the lifetime service requirements of the person receiving the structure payments.
The McKellar Guarantee is only issued after the file and the settlement documents have been fully reviewed by our Legal Department.
