Rita is President of McKellar Structured Settlements.

Rita is a true McKellar multi-tasker, spending time out of the office at mediations and client meetings, and inside, as a member of both the Legal Department, and the Management Committee.

Rita brings a caring yet practical approach to her role at McKellar, and since joining the company in 2000, she has attended hundreds of mediations and plaintiff meetings, to implement structured settlements that are specific to each person’s unique needs.

Before joining McKellar, Rita practised as a partner in the law firm of Villemaire, Levato for 12 years. She focused primarily on the areas of litigation, corporate/commercial law, and estate law. This broad-based legal experience has made her a key part of the McKellar team.

When not on the go at McKellar, Rita can be found staying true to her Italian roots, canning tomatoes in her garage, with the help of her husband John and their two children.

Cathleen’s experience and dedication to her work is an asset to McKellar, but it is her outgoing nature that our clients most appreciate.

Before joining McKellar in 1997, Cathleen was a law clerk for 11 years.  She was promoted to the position of Structured Settlement Consultant in 2014, and is part of McKellar’s Accident Benefits team. In addition to overseeing multiple files, Cathleen assists in mentoring new staff, and relies on her "eagle eyes" to perform a final audit on many of our structured settlement files.

Cathleen enjoys travel and reading, as well as spending time with her family and their dog.  In addition, although she does not enjoy it as much, Cathleen is often up early heading to the gym.

Before joining McKellar, Sumitra practiced personal injury law in Hamilton for 15 years. She has represented clients in jury and non-jury trials, at FSCO arbitration hearings and has appeared multiple times before the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Her legal and client relation skills will continue McKellar's tradition of unparalleled client service. Having worked in civil litigation for her whole career she is excited to move into this different area of a personal injury settlement.

Sumitra grew up in Ottawa but has been in southern Ontario since moving to Guelph for her undergraduate degree in International Development. She enjoys playing soccer, watching movies and spending time with her husband and her three very active children.

Laura joined McKellar Structured Settlements Inc. in 1992, and has been a Structured Settlement Consultant at the firm since 2003.

Her many roles include structured settlement consultation, industry seminars, marketing and being a part of the Management Committee.

She lectures extensively on structured settlements within the insurance industry and legal fraternity, and is a guest lecturer at Queen’s University Law School.  Laura helped to create McKellar’s current programme of seminars for insurance company and law firm training in structured settlements.

She also helped create the detailed protocols for McKellar’s comprehensive Accident Benefits and Future Care valuation reports, beginning in 1994 with Ontario’s Bill 164 legislation.

Laura is a proud member of St. Andrew’s College Pipe Band in Aurora, Ontario.  Her husband and two children absolutely love it when she practices her bagpiping at home.

Phil is Vice-President of McKellar Structured Settlements.

Phil has a high level of technical expertise in the area of Accident Benefits and has been involved with structured settlements since 1994.

Before joining McKellar in 2006, Phil spent 19 years with Co-operators General Insurance Company.

Phil’s casualty background and expertise in structured settlements makes him well suited for attendance at mediations and settlement meetings. His forthright manner and ease with figures has been of benefit in helping injured plaintiffs understand the value of structured settlements.

In addition, Phil has conducted many training sessions dealing with Accident Benefits and regularly conducts structured settlement training seminars. He is also a member of McKellar’s Marketing and Management Committees.

When he’s not working, Phil looks forward to his family vacations around the globe with his two children, and lovely wife, Suzanne.

Over her 32 years with McKellar, Colleen has developed a wealth of structured settlement knowledge and expertise.

Since joining McKellar, Colleen has been involved in virtually every area of the organization.  She became a Structured Setllement Consultant in the firm in 2003.

As one of the firm's structured settlement consultants, Colleen brings a thoughtful approach - and her great numbers sense -  to numerous mediations, settlement meetings and plaintiff meetings.

When she is not on the road meeting with clients, Colleen enjoys playing piano, and spending time outdoors with her husband Tony and their two daughters, at the family cottage.

Brittany is General Counsel of McKellar Structured Settlements.

With McKellar’s Legal Department, Brittany assists our clients to ensure that their settlement documentation meets the requirements of Canada Revenue Agency.  Brittany leads McKellar’s government relations efforts, advocating on behalf of seriously injured Ontarians.  Brittany serves as a member of our Management Committee, serves as McKellar’s Privacy Officer, and is our in-house intellectual property advisor.

Before joining McKellar, Brittany practiced law both in firm and in-house settings in Utah and Ontario.  She focused primarily on the areas of litigation and corporate/commercial law.  Brittany brings top-notch legal skills and a client-centered, solution-focused approach to her work at McKellar.

A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Brittany is a huge sports fan - especially of the Michigan Wolverines.  She enjoys baking, entertaining, and staying active.  She loves spending her free time with her husband, James, and their three children.

Cathleen’s experience and dedication to her work is an asset to McKellar, but it is her outgoing nature that our clients most appreciate.

Before joining McKellar in 1997, Cathleen was a law clerk for 11 years.  She was promoted to the position of Structured Settlement Consultant in 2014, and is part of McKellar’s Accident Benefits team. In addition to overseeing multiple files, Cathleen assists in mentoring new staff, and relies on her "eagle eyes" to perform a final audit on many of our structured settlement files.

Cathleen enjoys travel and reading, as well as spending time with her family and their dog.  In addition, although she does not enjoy it as much, Cathleen is often up early heading to the gym.

Over her 32 years with McKellar, Colleen has developed a wealth of structured settlement knowledge and expertise.

Since joining McKellar, Colleen has been involved in virtually every area of the organization.  She became a Structured Settlement Consultant with the firm in 2003.

As one of the firm's structured settlement consultants, Colleen brings a thoughtful approach - and her great numbers sense -  to numerous mediations, settlement meetings and plaintiff meetings.

When she is not on the road meeting with clients, Colleen enjoys playing piano, and spending time outdoors with her husband Tony and their two daughters, at the family cottage.

Laura joined McKellar Structured Settlements Inc. in 1992, and has been a Structured Settlement Consultant at the firm since 2003.

Her many roles include structured settlement consultation, industry seminars, marketing and being a part of the Management Committee.

She lectures extensively on structured settlements within the insurance industry and legal fraternity, and is a guest lecturer at Queen’s University Law School.  Laura helped to create McKellar’s current programme of seminars for insurance company and law firm training in structured settlements.

She also helped create the detailed protocols for McKellar’s comprehensive Accident Benefits and Future Care valuation reports, beginning in 1994 with Ontario’s Bill 164 legislation.

Laura is a proud member of St. Andrew’s College Pipe Band in Aurora, Ontario.  Her husband and two children absolutely love it when she practices her bagpiping at home.

Gord is McKellar’s Controller, and head of the Accounting Department.

With his extensive background in taxation and accounting, Gord manages the day-to-day business affairs of McKellar Structured Settlements Inc. with ease. In addition, he provides income tax and financial advice on structured settlements and other aspects of clients' needs.

Before joining McKellar in 1996, Gord spent fourteen years with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Hamilton, Ontario.  In fact, Gord’s association with McKellar began at Coopers, as he was responsible for the company’s year end financial statements and tax returns.

When not working with fiscal projections, balance sheets and financial statements, Gord can often be found hiking the Niagara Escarpment (or elsewhere around the world) with his wife, Glenda, and any number of their six adult children, three sons-in-law and three grandchildren.

When Mary Anne joined McKellar in 1998, her background in accounting and her great work ethic made her an immediate asset.

She has been involved with almost every aspect of McKellar over the years, and is now the Director of Operations in the firm, HR administrator, and a member of the Management Committee.  Mary Anne’s knowledge and dedication are indispensable qualities which aid in her oversight of McKellar’s day-to-day operations, ensuring the continued level of quality that our clients have relied on for many years.

Mary Anne is an avid movie buff and terrific baker of decadent treats.
